Ongoing research into involuntary celibacy

A group of researchers at Georgia State University, led by sociologist Denise Donnelly, have been interested in academic research on involuntary celibacy since the late 1990's. Below is an update from Denise sent to Incelsite in May 2007.

After several family/personal issues--personal illness, elderly parents' illness, and the birth of a baby--Elisabeth (Burgess) and I have gotten back to the project. We have the paper on married/partnered celibacy under review at Journal of Marriage and Family, are doing data analysis for the involuntary virginity paper, and are back at work on the book project (better late than never, eh?).
Have you seen Hanne Blank's book, Virgin: The Untouched History? I bought it recently, but haven't had time to read it. Looks good, though. I hear another book has recently come out on virginity, although I'm not sure of the title.
Best, Denise
